Furura Kafuka is student No. 15 of Class 2-F. An extremely positive student that finds something positive about every situation or denies the anything bad is happening at all. She accidentally creates cults a few times and some people see her as a goddess from her sayings. Rarely she can be seen with a dark look on her eyes when she says something a little depressing. Some of her lines imply there's something dark about her past.

Almost always smiling, short black hair and always a hairpin in one of her bangs.
Personality[]
She always has an insanely optimistic outlook on life and always maintains a positive perspective in even the most grim situations. For example, when Nozomu attempts to hang himself from a tree at the beginning of the series, she concludes that he is "making himself taller".
When Kafuka meets Meru, she thinks that regardless of whether you can text or talk, you can communicate with people by reading their eyes. She may have some kind of disturbing presence in her eyes, which terrifies Meru to the point of her attempting to escape.
Background[]
One of Kafuka's dreams is to become a god in the next life. She is semi-aware that this is hopeless, but in chapter 4, she falls into a tiger's cage and offers herself to be eaten in an attempt to become a god. She picked up this idea from the Buddhist text, Kinkoumyo Ukyou, which describes something similar in the section titled "Piece on the Renouncing Flesh".
Etymology[]
Her name is a reference to Franz Kafka, which seems slightly ironic at first given her cheerful disposition. However, it has been suggested that Kafuka has a traumatic past and that she is suppressing psychopathic tendencies underneath her sunny personality.

In the final chapter of the manga, it is revealed that before the series began, Kafuka had died and that her organs were donated to some of the characters that make up the majority of Nozomu's class. However, she was "too optimistic to die", and instead chose to possess a different member of the main female cast in every scene. In the bonus chapter of Volume 30, it is revealed that Kafuka continues to possess these same girls so that she can live on with Nozomu as his wife. However, in order for Kafuka and Nozomu to remain married, all the girls have to live under one roof and go through a rotation of divorces and marriages so that the two can always be married regardless of who Kafuka chooses to possess. This practice makes the group resemble a harem.
"Kafuka Fuura" is actually a pen name. While her real name is currently unknown, it is believed her name is most likely "Akagi An" due to the fact she is called An in some flashbacks and the surname Akagi appears in the attendance book. "Akagi An" may refer to Anne of Green Gables, known in Japan as "Akage no An".
