Hito Nami, student No. 28 of class 2-F. Nami is a self-proclaimed truant (and possibly self-destructive), however to her dismay she is better known in the class for being the most normal girl, which she considers boring and undesirable. When she is first introduced in the series, she tried various ruses designed to get attention from her classmates, only to be thwarted every time.

She has short black hair and no other distinguishing features, on her first appearance her hair is a little messier. Sometimes she eats a lot and gets a little chubby, noticeable by her cheeks
Personality[]
Nami strives to be someone different. She's the "normal girl" of the class, often being deemed as "irrelevant". In her debut chapter, she's tried to make people pity her, even doing extreme acts to get people to pity her, such as showing her injury, or attempting suicide.
She finds it offensive to be called "normal", because she thinks it's never used in a positive light.

- Her name is a pun on hitonami, meaning "run-of-the-mill".
- Back in the school where she attended junior highschool her nickname was Namihei (なみ平), which is also the name of a character from the manga Sazae-san.
- She often uses Apple-related products such as an iPhone and a Macbook, and seems to especially enjoy ramen.
- In the planning stages of Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei, she was originally planned to be the main heroine.[1]
